Finding the Right Fit Starts RIGHT NOW!
Selecting a college counselor is your first exercise in evaluating and determining fit. Your student needs to trust their counselor and feel comfortable working with them.
While the overall college application process is not likely to vary from one counselor to another, the approach can be significantly different.
Here are a few distinct aspects of the way I work with my students*:
✓ Unlimited college planning hours
✓ Highly structured and managed application timeline—learn more about this in a FREE CONSULTATION
✓ Student focused; parent oversight is not required
✓ Mandatory weekly meetings for seniors during fall application season
✓ Weekly status email updates for seniors during fall application season
✓ . . . Schedule a consultation to learn more about what it’s like to work with me and then you can decide if I am the right fit for your student.
My Story.
Dartmouth College Essay Prompt: 250 - 300 words
The Hawaiian word mo’olelo is often translated as “story” but it can also refer to history, legend, genealogy, and tradition. Use one of these translations to introduce yourself.
I was born and raised in West Alton Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis, at the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. I grew up watching the rivers rise, and the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball. I graduated from the University of Missouri - St. Louis with a BS in Biology, minor in Chemistry and a Biochemistry certificate. I paid my way through college by working as a craps dealer in various casinos in the St. Louis area, which taught me what it really meant to work for what you want. My goal was to graduate in four years, and I managed to do that while working full time. In 1996, I married my husband, and we have two amazing children, Eliza and Kyle. In 2008 our family was given the opportunity of a lifetime to move to London, England. We spent the next two years traveling and exploring Europe and northern Africa before moving to Georgia in 2010. I am still an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, but now I am also a devout Chelsea FC and Atlanta United supporter.
